Welcome to the ITTC Workshop on Wave Run-up and Vortex Shedding

The ITTC forms international policy and standards associated with experimental practice on ship resistance and power, seakeeping and ocean engineering, propulsors and cavitation, high speed marine vehicles and manoeuvrability.

The 27th ITTC Ocean Engineering Committee is conducting benchmark studies on wave run-up on single and four cylinders and vortex induced vibrations of marine risers.

The objective of the workshop is to present and discuss the results from the benchmark studies.

Scope of the Workshop

- Benchmark studies on wave run-ups on single and four cylinders. Numerical solutions are to be compared with experimental results.

- Numerical benchmark studies on vortex induced vibration of marine risers.

Workshop organisation

The schedule of the workshop is now available: Workshop_schedule.

Presentations are based on 20 min talk followed by 5 min of questions.

Discussions about benchmark results are planned on Friday morning.

Papers presented at the Workshop will be considered for publication in a special issue of Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering or an ASME book.

Note that the benchmark study results will be included in the Final Report of ITTC Ocean Engineering Committee. The results will be presented anonymously
